
Italic in origin, Cascia was an important Roman Centre: numerous archaeological finds recovered here are kept in the Italia national library and in the Vatican Museums (small italic bronzes). Architectural remains in the area itself include the temple of Villa San Silvestro.
Cascia has become famous for Santa Rita, an Augustine nun born in 1381 in Roccaporena, who died in 1447 and sanctified in 1900.
From the farm holidays is possible reach Vallo di Nera, Scheggino, Spoleto, Assisi, Perugia and the Cascate delle Marmore.
